BLOODY MARY

Bloody Mary is an urban legend that has withstood the winds of time and has been around for generations.

Her origin comes from a witch named Mary Worth, who lived during the civil war in Oregon. Her witchly magiks centered around mirrors, which she used to peer into the future and protect herself using sigils. While witches were not looked upon kindly by the wider public, young women would seek her out to learn about their future and request protection from evil.

At some point in Mary’s life, she became pregnant and gave birth to a girl, who is said to be named after Mary’s mother Elizabeth. Shortly after giving birth, an unknown person would whisk the baby away, leaving Mary devastated. She tried to find her child using her mirrors, searching endlessly for days on end, to no avail. In a last ditch effort, she decided to enter into her mirror to continue her search on a broader scale. In order to do this, she had to leave her mortal body behind by stabbing herself multiple times and dying against her largest mirror.

It is said that anyone who performs the ritual presents themselves as the one who took her baby, angering her spirit and causing her to lash out. People also think that Mary is still searching for her lost daughter, believing that those related to her by blood are the only ones who can put her spirit to rest.

Now, with that out of the way, how do you perform the ritual?

Firstly, you must be in a room with a mirror. This can be any room, with any mirror of any size, traditionally done with a bathroom mirror.

You must then turn off all the lights in the room, with no more than a candle lit if necessary.

Now that that is said and done, you may now start the ritual.

You start by chanting “Bloody Mary” in front of the mirror 13 times.

Continuing the chant, you now must say “I believe in Mary Worth” 13 times in front of the mirror.

Finish it off with “Bloody Mary, I stole your baby” to really egg her spirit on and complete the summoning.

Once all is said and done, the ritual should take effect. Expect one of these following things to happen:

- Her spirit latches onto you, causing bad luck

- Scratching appearing on your arms and face

- Her spirit visually appearing in the mirror

- A hand appearing and attempting to pull you into the mirror

- Sudden death
